ADULT HEALTH NURSING-II 8 CH

This course provides opportunities to learners to give safe & competent care for patients with various cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, musculoskeletal, Neurological and ENT disorders. They are assisted in development of critical thinking and nursing judgment while caring for a wide variety of patients including those who require long term care with emphasis on patient teaching and discharge planning.


Course Description:

This course provides learners with the opportunities to build on the
concepts and knowledge about the altered Physiological mechanisms and
their impact on the functional status of the body. It also deals with the
responses of the body that participate in manifestation of disease. The
usefulness of knowledge, skills and attitudes to the nurse in his/her
problem solving in the hospital, school, community or home is the
determining factor in the selection and integration of the content

An introduction to the
content and skills needed to assess the basic health status of individuals of
varying ages. These skills can be applied to nursing care in a wide variety of
clinical settings. 
This course emphasizes history taking and physical examination skills.

Course Description:

This course teaches basic mathematical skills which are tailored to the needs of the nursing practice.

 

Course Objectives:

By the completion of this course, learners will be able to:

1. Solve the different problems of Fraction, decimal and percentage by using four fundamental operations (+, -, x, ÷), addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

2. Apply the Ratio & Proportion method to solve word problems.

3. Discuss simple drug orders.

4. Explain SI, Apothecary, British and Household systems.

5. Solve the problems based on conversions within the system.

6. Interpret simple drug orders.

7. Solve the word problems based on conversion from one system to another system.

8. Interpret the scale on syringe.

9. Compute I.V. flow rate.
